Disordered Distribution of Amynoplasts and High Ga Content Related To Negative Gravitropic Growth of Peanut Gynophore in MLO-Infected Plants
نویسندگان
چکیده
Peanut produces aerial flowers but buries its developing seeds into the ground by means of a specialized organ, the gynophore. Gravitropism is the unusual character of gynophore as reproductive organ. Recently, we found the gynophores grow directly upward in mycoplasma-like organisms (MLO) infected peanut plants. To explain the negative gravitropism of the MLO-infected gynophores, gynophores from both infected and uninfected peanut plants were collected; anatomical structure and auxins content of these gynophores were analyzed. This study will also provide an additional data to research of the gynophores gravitropicsm [1].

Transcriptome profiling of peanut (Arachis hypogaea) gynophores in gravitropic response
Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) produces flowers aerially, but the fruit develops underground. This process is mediated by the gynophore, which always grows vertically downwards. The genetic basis underlying gravitropic bending of gynophores is not well understood. To identify genes related to gynophore gravitropism, gene expression profiles of gynophores cultured in vitro with tip pointing upward ...
متن کاملThe Possibility Using the Composted Peanut Shells in the Growth of Marigold and Viola tricolor Plants
This research was conducted to evaluate the possibility using peanut shells compost as a suitable medium in cultivating ornamental plants. Effect of peanut shells composts on the growth of Viola tricolor and marigold was investigated during seven months. Peat + perlite (with a ratio of 2:1) used as control treatment and peat replaced by 25, 50, 75 and 100 % v/v of peanut shells compost. Plant g...
متن کاملAssociation between aflatoxin contamination and N2 fixation in peanut under drought conditions
Traits related to nitrogen fixation may be used as indirect selection criteria foraflatoxin resistance in peanut. The aim of this study was to investigate therelationship between N2 fixation traits and aflatoxin contamination in peanut underdifferent drought conditions. Eleven peanut genotypes were evaluated under threewater regimes for two seasons in the field. Data were observed on kernel inf...
متن کاملChanges in auxin patterns in developing gynophores of the peanut plant (Arachis hypogaea L.).
The peanut plant (Arachis hypogaea L.) produces flowers aerially, but buries the recently fertilized ovules in the soil in order for the fruit and seeds to mature underground. The organ that carries the seeds into the soil is called the gynophore. The growth of the peanut gynophore is regulated primarily by indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). A monoclonal antibody raised against IAA was used to success...

Salinity is one of the most important restricting factors for plant growth and production around the world. The use of plant growth regulators has been expanded for improving salt tolerance in recent decades. In this investigation the effect of gibberellic acid (GA) and paclobutrazol (GA inhibitors) were evaluated for ameliorating negative effects of salt stress in sweet sorghum. After germinat...
